No fire show without knowledge about fire safety. Fire is pretty. It is absolutely charming and works like a magnet. Anyone who perceives it wants to be near it, watch it, feel its warmth. But don't burn yourself...

Klik om te vergrotenThe importance of safety during fire shows should not be underestimated. We fully realise our responsibility towards our clients and public and take all possible measures to guarantee the safety of our public without jeopardizing the integrity of our show.

That is why The Fire Masters have developed the habit to sit down with local emergency services in the running up to a show. For a performance of the Fire village Royale for example, is a requirement to have a preliminary meeting with the police and/or fire department and that a safety plan is implemented. In this plan are a risk evaluation, an overview of safety norms and procedures and the eventual measures for precaution. This way, we have cooperated with succes with the fire departments and cultural centres of tens of cities and municipalities among which Antwerp, Bruges and Brussels.

Klik om te vergrotenDuring a show, The Fire Masters are actors as well as guardians. Each one of us knows the internal Fire Master security norms, extinguishing techniques and local evacuation paths, so that in case of emergency there can be an immediate and thorough response. The Fire Masters always bring their own fire extinguishers, fire blankets and/or water tanks during performances and there is always a first aid kit available.

Klik om te vergrotenPerformances are always organized in such a way that only the smallest possible chance exists for the public coming close to the fire and on top of that, we set up a decorative fencing around our immobile installations. In case the public does not respect these barriers, our 'guards' take the lead and if safety is at stake, the play is even temporarily put to a halt.

Klik om te vergrotenThe Fire Masters work with the right type of materials. We invest in fireproof fabrics, fire gloves and fire retardants for all our actors and volunteers. Our installations are all constructed in the most safe way possible, have check valves, release valves and taps, are treated and are painted in heat resistant paints. For our own safety we wear (when putting up the Fire Roller Coaster) climbing rope, harnesses and safety hats.

Our installations and effects are always constructed and tested rigorously in our workshop and outdoors. We never bring fire on scene of which the effects are uncertain or when weather does not permit it.

Rest assured that we are very strict in following this safety programme. For more information about our safety norms, for a copy of our safety dossier or for a question about safety in general, please contact us.
